Happy Anniversary The Ted Rap

Happy Anniversary The Ted Rap!

I've been blogging here for TWO years now - wow, how time flies.

Will I still be here in 2 more? Don't know. I'm blogging less frequently here now, and more at Blogging for Business, and all good things come to end, but who knows?

Thanks to all my regular and occasional readers!

What's An Entrepreneur Look Like?

I told Ben Yoskovitz, "An entrepreneur is someone who happily assumes personal risk for future financial gain and freedom."

More important is what I left out, than what I included.

Who's a typical entrepreneur?
  • Some guy starting a high tech Web 2.0 company in basement?
  • A biotech guru with a pile of Venture Capital funding?
  • Anyone risking their currently financial well being on some far-flung scheme that *may* make them rich??
These all qualify, but are far from typical.
Typical, and very often successful, is far different - and I'll write about it soon!

Part II coming (do they have wild looks in their eyes? secret handshakes? etc.)

10 Ways to Make it Great - Book Review

I've read 10 Ways to Make it Great by Phil Gerbyshak THREE times. As the cover pictorially demonstrates, say no to "Have a Nice Day."

His basic premise is don't settle for good, or you'll never get great.

Clearly that's a huge oversimplification, and Phil certainly offers plenty of practical advice in what I'll call a part book/part work book.

I don't read many books of this type, but this one is a winner! It's either a quick and insightful read, or a book you can spent a lot of time with, working on the exercises and thinking. Highly recommended for everyone!

You can visit his blog too.

I'm a sleazy best selling author!

Hmmm, get near the top of a "best selling" list and you're a best selling author by definition.

How about, "best selling book I ever wrote" ???

Naw, I'm #1 on Amazon. Well, OK, Amazon's Hot New Weblog Releases.

Perhaps I should insist on being referred to as "#1 Best Selling Author and Still a Nobody" :)
So many lists, most author's are on at least one.

Like the awards they gave at my son's kindergarten graduation - every kid got one for something!

Maine 2.0 Slides Online

Had a great talk at Maine 2.0!

My slides are available here, and audio is hopefully coming soon.

I talk about how technology is more pervasive in society and our environment than we often think, why we're in a state of chaos now!, and we we will be in ten+ years.

Most Internet users have been targeted by criminal phishing emails, yet less than one third have any idea what phishing is, and only 3.5% have changed their habits due to the threat of phishing!

Risks include Identity Theft, Credit Card fraud, and more.
