10 Ways to Make it Great - Book Review

I've read 10 Ways to Make it Great by Phil Gerbyshak THREE times. As the cover pictorially demonstrates, say no to "Have a Nice Day."

His basic premise is don't settle for good, or you'll never get great.

Clearly that's a huge oversimplification, and Phil certainly offers plenty of practical advice in what I'll call a part book/part work book.

I don't read many books of this type, but this one is a winner! It's either a quick and insightful read, or a book you can spent a lot of time with, working on the exercises and thinking. Highly recommended for everyone!

You can visit his blog too.

I haven't read Phil's book yet, but it will be interesting to see how it compares to Jim Collins' "Good to Great", which is a worthwhile exploration of why some companies have been able to make the leap and others have failed. A strong corporate culture that inspires people to behave in certain consistent ways seems to be a big part of the equation. I'll have to see if Phil's book reaches similar conclusions.
