Creating and Selling Information Products on Blogging

Michele Corey has an interesting post on Knee Deep about creating and selling info products, products based on knowledge like e-books and educational/informative audio CDs.

Michele and I are in the same boat! Way behind in our plans . . .

As I commented on her blog, I'm good at jumping on planes and making money. I consult, I speak, I teach, and I stay in many hotels. Now with 3 kids, it's time to figure out the "making money AND sleeping in my own bed" thing. I've tried "not making money and sleeping in my own bed" - success! But I need to make money sometimes :)

I was going to have info products for sale on my website 6 months ago, but my first info product turned into "Blogging for Business" - a real published book from a real publisher. Very cool, but real books don't pay enough to support large families. Then my publisher asked for book #2 (and Michele is in it).

Still, another "postponement" in developing some valuable info products and selling them on the Web.

So, what am I developing? Products on business blogging. Things I figured out the hard way: How to build your business by blogging. Efficiently, profitably, and without any silly myths, superstitions, or pseudo-rules. What really works and what doesn't. Not just from my experience, but from the experience of a wide variety of people across many industries.

My first products should be out this summer. Remind me if you have too!
