The running of the tomatoes

I've heard of the Running of The Bulls, even almost went once. It's dangerous - people get gored and trampled sometimes.

I wonder if this "Running of the Tomatoes" is intended as a safe replacement? Many of the people even put on goggles before the tomatoes start flying !

I think I'd like it better if more women were involved. Picture seems like all male tomatoes

Lol, I can asure you there are lots of girls in there.

And the safety thing, well, it's kinda difficult to keep the googles on (even the lab ones we carry) all the time as there is so much liquid on the floor and you receive so many hits that they usually get lost in the tomato soup. It's not dangerous anyways as the containers that carry the tomatoes are kept one day under the sun so they are not hard at all when the party begins.

You have more photos here where you can apreciate the real dimension of the event:

Give it a try and come to Buñol at least once, I bet you won't regret it.
