Loch Ness monster a mutated eel, says researcher
Loch Ness Investigator Bill McDonald claims the Loch Ness monster is a 50 feet mutated eel.
"It 's an amphibious fish, predatory, and definitely a female. Unable to reenter the open water to spawn, it just keeps growing bigger." says McDonald in this somewhat silly press release.
Oh yes, he also claims there is a government conspiracy, a US$100,000 reward, and perhaps DNA evidence on the way.
There is also a book on the Loch Ness monster to promote, a Book Promotion agency, and a scary picture of a 4" barbed tooth! More (well-done) foolishness and a tooth picture at http://www.lochnesstooth.com/
For the record, I've been to Loch Ness. I planned on swimming, but it was cold, raining, and dreary, and Loch Ness looks anything but inviting. I saw no evidence of anything remotely exciting there.

post a commentI got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you Ted. "Special Price" just for you!
I was excited when I first saw the story on the news, but after my own further little investigation internet investigation, I smell a rat. A website posted by the students who claim to have found the tooth (http://www.lochnesstooth.com/) says that they know who took it, but they are offering a reward for info leading to a return. The author is claiming on tv that it is in the possession of a third government. The video footage they claim wasn't confiscated is posted on a website based in the UK, which I found interesting for 2 students from a midwest US area. Not to mention the testimonial they have on video is obviously some young men telling a story. They had too much trouble getting the words out, and didn't seem to agree with sounds made by the creature. I also read that the creature is absolutely female. How could that be known if the tooth was taken before testing could be done. Add on the replica that is being shown all over in the press. How can you make a good replica of something taken immediately after being discovered? I take it back, a dead rat smell good compared to this publicity stunt.
